Full description
The house is built mostly from timber, and the main living space rises the full two storeys. Two tiers of white-framed windows fill one wall with light. A sunken sofa sits low beneath them, and a wooden dining table for six stands under the roof trusses. Glass doors open straight onto the pool deck, so on a dry day the living room and garden run together.
Mornings start on the deck, with the rice field just past the low block wall. The main bedroom has a pitched timber ceiling, dark wood floors and old louvred wardrobe doors painted teal. Through a curtained doorway there’s a separate room with a desk, so a full working day never ends up at the dining table. The bathroom has a roll-top tub and a brass rain shower set against terracotta tiles. In the evening, take a drink up to the balcony and watch the sun go down behind the terraces.
The rent covers electricity, a cleaner, pool maintenance and a gardener. Each of the three bedrooms has its own bathroom with hot water, plus AC and a fan. The house sits in a residential gang in Berawa, with quick access to Jalan Raya Canggu and the roads through to Umalas and Canggu. Berawa’s cafés are close by, and a rice field stays out the back.
